BT Young Scientist

On Thursday 7th of January all TY students and 2nd year students went into Dublin for the day to the BT Young Scientist. This was all new for the 2nd years, but this is all TY's second time going there.

There were similar projects in the RDS that I've seen years back when I was in 2nd year, which was really cool as they're still here. Most projects gave free things away once you did a survey or just given something for free when walking past. There was a project where you would win a Lily bag on the spot full of stuff once you answered a question correctly. There was a running tap with no way of water coming in through the tap, and you had to guess how this was happening. I got the answer correct and got a Lily Bag. I was very happy.

Some girls from my school were there too. So a big congratulations to them even if they didn't win anything, they're still a winner!

My favourite project was the European Union one. They had experiments that were really cool and that I've never thought of before. It was amazing. The only thing I didn't like about the RDS is that it was full of people and you couldn't sit anywhere as it was really full. Overall, I loved it.

Quote of the day:
What you do today can improve all your tomorrow's

(Ar as Gaeilge..)

Chuaigh mé go dtí ar an turas scoile go dtí Comórtas Eolaí óg na mBliana. D'fhág muid ag 9:05 ar maidin. Bhain mé taitneamh as tionscadal a bhain le daoine ag cabhrú le daoine bochta. Labhair mé le daoine i gcuid tionscadal mar a bhí an-suim i bhfoghlaim níos mó faoi liom. D'fhoghlaim mé go raibh roinnt turgnaimh áirithe éasca a dhéanamh agus a thuiscint. Bhí Shamira agus Jade ar an RDS faoi tionscadal ar ag obair le chéile. Rinne sibh an tionscadal ar obair foirne agus éifeachtúlacht foirne. Bhí Megan agus Linda ar an RDS freisin.  Tá an tionscadal go hiontach ar béirt. Bhain mé taitneamh as an lá. Bhí spéís agam san eolaíocht. Chuamar go dtí abhaile ar a leathair tar éis a dó.
